Seeking Nominations for 2022-2023 Board of Directors

In accordance with the Camden Alumni Association Constitution and By-Laws, we are seeking nominations from current active members in good standing for positions on the Camden Alumni Board of Directors for the 2022 elections.

A member in good standing is considered an alumnus who is currently up to date on dues payments. If you are interested in one of these board positions, and your dues are not up to date, just fill out the membership form found here and mail it to the address indicated along with a check for $5 to cover the 2021-2022 annual dues.

Nominations shall be by petition from the candidate seeking office. The petition must be endorsed by at least two other dues paying members for the last two years. The petition shall be submitted to the President by February 15th. You can find a nomination petition form here.

It is the responsibility of all board members to attend a majority of the board meetings held, usually numbering 3 or 4 meetings annually [COVID-19 Permitting!]. The remaining duties specific to any position are available on the alumni website.

With the exception of the presidential offices, there are no term limits for any board of director positions. Incumbents can continue to run for office as long as they wish to hold the position. As of this notice, we do not know if any incumbents wish to withdraw from office, but election nominations are open to any qualified alumni willing to run for office and fulfill the duties of the position for which they are nominated.

Duties for all the Board of Directors positions can be found by CLICKING HERE. A more complete list of duties, by position and date during the year will be posted later today, linked through the page linked above.

For the 2022 Camden Alumni Association Board of Directors Elections, we are seeking nominations for the positions below. The positions are currently held by the listed incumbent, if any, but any active member of the Camden Alumni Association is welcome to submit their nomination for any of these positions to run in an election against the incumbent, if the incumbent is still interested in maintaining the position once another alumni is also interested in holding the position. We are always looking for new alumni to join the board of directors and help with the management of this organization.

Registrar, 1 year term.

INCUMBENT: LANCE WILLIAMS, CLASS OF 1979
[Likely Resigning in June 2022 after 17 years]

The position of Registrar is most likely the most important position on the alumni board, as the registrar maintains the membership database, records dues paid and scholarship donations and also the annual banquet reservations. If Lance resigns in June, as is highly likely, it will leave a big hole in the management of this organization, so a replacement registrar is needed above all else. Lance has agreed to help train a new registrar and be available to answer any questions the new registrar may have in his/her duties.

INCUMBENT: SHERRY PETYAK SOUVA, CLASS OF 1981

Treasurer, 1 year term.

INCUMBENT: DEANNE VANDRESAR SUITS, CLASS OF 1979

Scholarship Chairperson, 1 year term.
