Just a quick note to say “Happy New Year” to everyone!!

I also just wanted to let everyone know I will be sending out IRS compliant receipts for donations to the Scholarship Fund to everyone who donated $250 or more.  We are a 501.(c).3 non-profit organization, and these donations are tax-deductible for those that itemize deductions. Donations of $250 or more require a receipt from the receiving organization, so I am proactively sending them out for those who donated $250 or more.

If you itemize deductions and donated less than $250 and would like a receipt of your donation, please request it by sending an email to registrar@camdenalumni.com  Please include your name, mailing address and graduation year so I can easily find your record in the database.

2018’s Camden-Florida reunion will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018, starting at 11:00am, again at the Golden Corral, 3950 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162. The cost will be $13.00 per person (for lunch, tax & gratuity included).

News on Some Important Changes!

New Alumni Association Registrar…

After eight years as registrar, Scott Souva has submitted his resignation as Registrar for the Camden Alumni Association, as his regular job requirements have increased so he does not feel he can give the position the time it deserves. Thank you to Scott for his years of service as Registrar.

At this time, with 14 years of service on the Board of Directors as a Membership Director, Lance Williams has accepted the appointment to Registrar.

New Alumni Association Mailing Address…

Effective immediately, the mailing address for the Camden Alumni Association is with the newly appointed Registrar, Lance Williams:

The existing email address: registrar@camdenalumni.com has now been assigned to Lance, so you can continue to use that email address to contact the Registrar.

At this time, all the downloadable forms on the Camden Alumni Website have been updated to the new mailing address. Please be sure to download new membership renewal, information update and scholarship donation form before mailing anything in the future to the Camden Alumni Association.

Additional Board of Directors Changes…

Along with the resignation of Scott Souva, the Board of Directors has also accepted the resignation of Michael Waterman. Michael has served as a Banquet Director for over 15 years, and we wish to also thank him for his years of dedicated service and staying on the board while we searched for a replacement to fill his term.

At the same time as the Board of Directors accepted these two resignations, we also made three appointments to fill most of the vacancies in the Board of Directors that have developed

We would like to welcome the following new members to the Camden Alumni Association Board of Directors:

  • Nancy Fox Prusack, Class of 1979, into the role of Membership Director, filling the full 3 year term created when Mary Jane Currier-Wannyan stepped up to 2nd Vice President.
  • Brian Dixon, Class of 1985, into the role of Membership Director, filling the remaining 2 years in the term vacated when Lance Williams stepped up to Registrar.
  • Rebecca Deeley Gerrard, Class of 1990, into the role of Banquet Director, filling the full 3 year term vacated when Michael Waterman resigned at the last board meeting.

Remaining Vacant Director’s Position…

There is one remaining vacant Director’s position that will be filled this fall. We have a couple of candidates, but we are always looking for other alumni to take an active role in governing the alumni association. If you are interested in being considered for a director’s position, please let us know. Reply to this email, and it will be forwarded to the proper board members for consideration.

Every year there are multiple positions up for election, and it would be nice to see some interested people so these positions are not just filled with uncontested seats. Information on the different positions and the duties they entail can be found HERE.
